Adaptation of the popular Cartoon Network animated series re-imagined as an immersive theatre piece using storytelling and puppetry as I felt this would work best with the feeling of the cartoon. My concept explores many of the themes touched upon and used within the cartoon in an in depth manner. For instance the links it has to Dantes Inferno, the feeling of nostalgia established through old movie and cartoon references and the use of old stories such as “Babes in the wood” to add more depth to the characters. The implications of being alive, dead or maybe somewhere in between and the use of natural elements such as plants and the seasons will all lend to the overall look of the piece. The setting will remain ambiguous in that it is a forest that seems to be suspended in time, costumes and a few props will be used to suggest the time difference while also setting the scene but allowing the characters to be the main focus of the audience.
