For my redesign I was given the time period of the 1830s. Through my research I saw that prints with natural themes like flowers were popular and wanted to use this to help emphasise the characters. My concept was to adapt the style of the 1830s to neon orange and black neoprene using the qualities of the neoprene to create a sculptural look for each character. With two such contrasting and bold colours I adapted the delicate patterns of the time into something more graphic which would look bold on stage.
